Bret Contreras, CRPS®

Bret Contreras oversees the distribution of Lord Abbett products within the retail defined contribution market. In this role, he works with the Regional Managers and Relationship Management team to help achieve success within Lord Abbett’s defined contribution investment only (DCIO) initiatives.
Mr. Contreras joined Lord Abbett in 2004 as a Retirement Planning Specialist, and worked with Lord Abbett’s 401(k) business, largely in the midwest and western regions. In 2009, Mr. Contreras joined the DCIO Specialist team and worked with the firm’s defined contribution investment only business clients, delivering timely ideas to financial advisors and partnering with retirement recordkeepers.
Mr. Contreras earned a BS in business administration, with concentrations in marketing and management, from Montclair State University. He also is a holder of the Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) designation.
