JERSEY CITY, NJ March 3, 2025 – Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC (“Lord Abbett”), an independent, privately-held investment management firm, was named number one in Barron’s annual ranking of the Best Fund Families. Lord Abbett’s position at the top of Barron’s list places it ahead of 47 other qualifying firms and nearly 800 total asset managers in Lipper’s database.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our investment professionals, and their unwavering commitment to our clients,” said Doug Sieg, CEO and Managing Partner of Lord Abbett. “We have focused relentlessly on offering high-quality, actively managed products long term, and being named the Best Fund Family is excellent validation that our strategy is paying off.”
Barron’s highly anticipated annual rankings date back more than 20 years and examine the performance of a variety of actively managed funds. The ranking evaluates firms that offer at least three actively managed mutual funds or exchanged-traded funds in the general U.S. stock category defined by Lipper LSEG, in addition to at least one actively managed fund in both the world equity and mixed-asset categories. Firms must also provide two or more taxable bond funds and a national tax-exempt bond fund.
Lord Abbett’s place on top of Barron’s rankings is a result of its excellent weighted average performance across various Lipper’s fund categories, with the firm’s funds placing in the top 10 in each, including the top performance in General Equity, second in Taxable Bonds, and fifth in Tax-Exempt bonds. Lord Abbett also rose up to sixth in Barron’s five-year rankings which track firms’ long-term performance.*
