The performance quoted represents past performance, which is no indication of future results. Current performance may be higher or lower than the performance data quoted. Returns shown at net asset value have all distributions reinvested. If a sales charge had been deducted, the results would have been lower. The investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate so that shares, on any given day or when redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Therefore, there can be no assurance of future results.

Other Important Information
Returns with sales charges reflect applicable fees and expenses and include all distributions reinvested.

Returns shown at less than a year reflect aggregate total returns.

Class A - Except as noted below, returns with sales charges reflect a maximum sales charge of 5.75% for equity and strategic allocation funds, 4.75% for Lord Abbett Bond Debenture Fund, and 2.25% for all tax-free income funds and taxable fixed income funds (except for Lord Abbett Bond Debenture Fund). There are also ongoing 12b-1 service fees (and, in certain cases, distribution fees).

Class A Shares purchased subject to a front-end sales charge have no contingent deferred sales charge (CDSC). However, certain purchases of Class A shares made without a front-end sales charge may be subject to a CDSC of 1% if the shares are redeemed before the first day of the month in which the one year anniversary of the purchase falls. The CDSC is not reflected in the performance with maximum sales charge.
A Note about Risk
Domestic Equity - The value of investments in equity securities will fluctuate in response to general economic conditions and to changes in the prospects of particular companies and/or sectors in the economy. Investments in multinational companies generally pose greater risks than those of domestic companies, including market, liquidity, currency, and political risks. Select Funds invest primarily in small cap growth company stocks, which tend to be more volatile and can be less liquid than other types of stocks. Small cap companies may also have more limited product lines, markets, or financial resources and typically experience a higher risk of failure than large cap companies.

International - Investing in international securities generally poses greater risk than investing in domestic securities, including greater price fluctuations and higher transaction costs. Special risks are inherent to international investing, including those related to currency fluctuations and foreign, political, and economic events. These risks can be greater in the case of emerging country securities.

Asset Allocation - Each Fund invests in underlying funds that may engage in a variety of investment strategies involving certain risks; these fund of funds may be subject to those particular risks of the underlying funds in proportion to which each Fund invests in them. Performance may be lower than the performance of the asset class that they were selected to represent.

Taxable Fixed-Income - The value of an investment in fixed-income securities will change as interest rates fluctuate and in response to market movements. As interest rates fall, the prices of debt securities tend to rise. As rates rise, prices tend to fall. High-yield securities, sometimes called junk bonds, carry increased risks of price volatility, illiquidity, and the possibility of default in the timely payment of interest and principal. Convertible securities have both equity and fixed-income risk characteristics. Like all fixed-income securities, the value of convertible securities is susceptible to the risk of market losses attributable to changes in interest rates. Generally, the market value of convertible securities tends to decline as interest rates increase and, conversely, to increase as interest rates decline.

Among the inflation-linked investments used by the Inflation Focused Fund are inflation-indexed derivatives, including CPI swaps, there is no guarantee that the Fund will generate returns that exceed the rate of inflation in the U.S. over time. The success of the Fund's investment strategies will largely depend on the extent to which the Fund's portfolio management team correctly forecasts inflationary trends and expectations. During periods of deflation or when inflation is lower than anticipated, the Fund is likely to under perform funds that hold fixed income securities similar to those held by the Fund but do not hold inflation-linked investments. The Fund defines inflation by reference to the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, which is a national average. Individual investors may have higher increases in the goods and services they consume and the Fund may fail to provide returns that meet or exceed these increases.

Tax-Free Income - There is a risk that a bond issued as tax-exempt may be reclassified by the IRS as taxable, creating taxable rather than tax-free income. In addition, bonds may be subject to other types of risk such as call, credit, liquidity, interest-rate, and general market risks. A portion of the income derived from each Fund's portfolio may be subject to the alternative minimum tax. Any capital gains realized may be subject to taxation. Stockholders should consult with their tax advisors for more specific information on taxation.

These factors can affect fund performance.

The Fund's share price and income are not guaranteed. An investment in the fund is neither insured nor guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency.
