Can I fund a new account electronically?
 
You can open a mutual fund account in the same day by funding your account electronically.
   

To open and fund an account in the same day, choose Automated Clearing House (ACH) funding in Step 6 of the General Mutual Fund Application.

Your application must be received by Lord Abbett before the New York Stock Exchange closes (generally 4:00 p.m. EST) in order to receive that day's closing price and must be in good order.

How do I set up my account with a beneficiary?
 

To set up your account with a transfer on death beneficiary, please complete step 1 of the General Mutual Fund Application.

A Transfer on Death (TOD) account allows you to transfer your account to a beneficiary without the costs or delays of a probate proceeding. You can designate a beneficiary(ies) and authorize the transfer of account ownership upon death when establishing a new account.

How to Enroll in E-delivery—"Go Paperless"
 

You can sign up for e-delivery so that Lord Abbett will notify you when your mail is ready.

You can enroll in our e-delivery solution by going to www.lordabbett.com/investor and using your user ID and password.  Once you have completed the log-in process, you will be directed to the “Portfolio Overview” page, where you can select “Paperless Options” from the “View Option” on the right side of the page.  There, you will select “Go “and begin the e-delivery enrollment process by following these steps:   

  • Step 1: Provide us your e-mail address. (This will be the address that we use to send your e-delivery correspondence.)  
  • Step 2: Select one or all four options available to you: Quarterly Statement, Trade Confirmation, Prospectus and Shareholder Reports, Annual Tax Statements.
  • Step 3: Select “Continue.”
  • Step 4: Read the “Consent” page and Agree to the terms.


That’s all there is to it.  You can return at any time to update, add, or delete any of these options by following the same instructions above.

What is a form 5498, when is it sent out?
 

The IRA custodian is required to file Form 5498 with the IRS by May 31 of each year. In addition the copy is also required to be provided to you.

An IRA custodian is required to report both your IRA contributions for the prior year and rollover deposits during the prior year. Your contributions are the only transactions that may occur during the current tax year and be designated and reported for the prior tax year. All other IRA activity is reported on a calendar year basis, regardless of which plan year it may affect.

Form 5498 also reports Roth conversion amounts, recharacterization transfer, fair market value of your account as December 31st, Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) amount and date by which RMD must be distributed.

A signature guarantee protects you from someone forging your signature and gaining access to your account. A signature guarantee stamp provides assurances that the person signing the documentation is who they say they are.

How to Enroll in E-delivery—"Go Paperless"
 

You can sign up for e-delivery so that Lord Abbett will notify you when your mail is ready.

You can enroll in our e-delivery solution by going to www.lordabbett.com/investor and using your user ID and password.  Once you have completed the log-in process, you will be directed to the “Portfolio Overview” page, where you can select “Paperless Options” from the “View Option” on the right side of the page.  There, you will select “Go “and begin the e-delivery enrollment process by following these steps:   

  • Step 1: Provide us your e-mail address. (This will be the address that we use to send your e-delivery correspondence.)  
  • Step 2: Select one or all four options available to you: Quarterly Statement, Trade Confirmation, Prospectus and Shareholder Reports, Annual Tax Statements.
  • Step 3: Select “Continue.”
  • Step 4: Read the “Consent” page and Agree to the terms.


That’s all there is to it.  You can return at any time to update, add, or delete any of these options by following the same instructions above.
