Harold E. Sharon, Partner & Director of International Equity at Lord Abbett, is responsible for overseeing the firm's international equity teams. In addition, he is Portfolio Manager for Lord Abbett's large cap international equity investment products and is responsible for setting the investment strategy, including the Lord Abbett International Core Equity Fund. He also contributes as a member of the Allocation Investment Committee.
Mr. Sharon joined Lord Abbett in 2003 to establish the firm's international equity products, and was named a Partner in 2006. Prior to joining Lord Abbett, Mr. Sharon worked for Warburg Pincus Asset Management/CSAM, as Partner and Managing Director and co-founded and managed the international equity team. He was a portfolio manager and analyst for many of that team's largest international products, and in 1999, he co-managed the number-one international equity fund in the United States (Warburg Pincus International Small Company Fund), according to Lipper Analytics. Earlier in his career, Mr. Sharon was Executive Director in the Hedge Fund Management Group at Oppenheimer; Vice President – International Equity Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management; and an Associate at Batterymarch Financial Management. He has been in the financial services industry since 1983.
Mr. Sharon has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, The New York Times, Reuters, Bloomberg News, and Barron's. He also has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and PBS's Nightly Business Report.
Mr. Sharon earned an MBA in finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School and a BA in economics and government from the University of Rochester.
