Partner & Director of Small Cap Core |
Michael T. Smith is a Partner & Director of Small Cap Core for Lord Abbett. In addition, he is a Portfolio Manager responsible for directing the investment strategy for the firm's small cap core equity product and the Lord Abbett Small Cap Blend Fund.
Mr. Smith has 20 years of experience in the investment services industry. He joined Lord Abbett in 1997 as an Analyst on the small cap value investment team, and over time he developed the strategy to establish the small cap core product. He was named a Partner in 2002.
Prior to joining Lord Abbett, Mr. Smith was an Equity Analyst at Capital Management Associates. He also provided accounting and consulting services for a broad range of companies, including Cooper Lybranth.
Mr. Smith has been profiled by Investor's Business Daily and was named a Barron's/Value Line Top 100 Mutual Fund Manager.
Mr. Smith earned an MBA from New York University and a BA from California State University–Fullerton.
