Michael Brooks, a Partner within Lord Abbett's Private Wealth Group, leads the firm in working with wealth managers in the western region of the United States. He also maintains a cross-channel leadership role for the firm.
Mr. Brooks, who has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, joined Lord Abbett in 1989 as a Regional Manager. He was promoted to Divisional Sales Director in 1996 and to Central Division Director in 2000. He was named a Partner in 2002. In 2008, he took over responsibility for the firm's outreach efforts to wealth managers in the West.
Before joining Lord Abbett, Mr. Brooks was a First Vice President/Regional Sales Manager at UBS PaineWebber, Inc. He began his career at Merrill Lynch as an Account Executive. Mr. Brooks is a member of the investment committee of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities and a former member of its board.
Mr. Brooks earned a BS in economics from Iowa State University. He also is a holder of a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation and is a Certified Investment Strategist (CIS).
