Daniel Vande Velde, a Partner and a Portfolio Manager on Lord Abbett's Municipal Bond team, is responsible for developing and implementing investment strategies for the firm's tax-free assets. Mr. Vande Velde manages the Intermediate Tax Free and Short Duration Tax Free Funds, along with Lord Abbett's Intermediate Separately Managed Accounts.
Mr. Vande Velde has 22 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the past 14 years as a municipal bond portfolio manager. Prior to joining Lord Abbett, Mr. Vande Velde had been portfolio manager at McDonnell Investment Management/ Van Kampen Investments since 1997, focusing on municipal bond portfolios. From 1990 until 1997, he worked at Van Kampen Investments (before it spun off McDonnell Investments) in a number of roles, including municipal surveillance analyst, in which he examined municipal bonds.
Mr. Vande Velde received an MBA from DePaul University and a BA in finance from Loyola University.
